Tomizone

I’ve finally got around to creating my own WiFi HotSpot!

Tomizone allows you to create your own HotSpot, allowing any user of the public to access wireless internet generating revenue for you.

This is especially good for people such as cafe or chain operators who want to give their customers access to wireless internet at low cost and minimal setup. I bought a Linksys WRT54GL for about AUD $80, loaded the free firmware from the Tomizone website, and away you go.

For more information see www.tomizone.com
For a list of available hotspots see http://locate.tomizone.com

Mozy gives you 2GB of completely free online storage.

Three Mobile Australia Dial-up Numbers

July 27th, 2007

I use the Three mobile network here in Australia, and sometimes use my Nokia E65 mobile phone with my notebook to connect to the internet.

Normally I connect my mobile phone to my notebook via Bluetooth, and use the Bluetooth modem to dialup.

To dial up, you need to use a specific dial-up number, which I always forget. So, for the convenience of everyone, and myself, here are the dial-up numbers when using the mobile as a dial-up modem.

For Nokia handsets use: *99#
For Sony Ericsson handsets use: *99***2# or *99***1#

I have not tested other makes but I believe *99# will work.

This is a small java arcade game my group made for a uni project.

We had less than two weeks to make it, so it’s not perfect. Check out the splash screen for keys.

Gigapxl Project

February 23rd, 2006

It’s no secret digital camera use and purchases exploded in recent years, and now even novice consumers are clued up on picture quality and how it’s measured; in megapixels.

The average consumer camera is now around 5 megapixels. Imagine that times 500.

The Gigapxl Project set out to capture our world, using technology to produce amazing quality and great sized pictures. Their photos range from 1000 megapixels to 4000 megapixels. Some of this stuff has to be seen to be believed. Imagine a print 50 square feet print with the quality of your average 6 x 4!

Check out http://www.gigapxl.org/ to see their latests prints.
